Heather has been dancing since the age of five, and has been trained in tap, ballet, and jazz by Julie Keller, owner of Belladance, amongst other teachers as well. She has competed from eight years old through high school. While in high school, she was also a part of her school’s dance team. Since graduating from high school, she has learned modern and contemporary and continues to develop her knowledge.
Heather is a student at Northern Kentucky University majoring in Dance and Secondary Education in Mathematics with a minor in Honors. She is planning on pursuing her master’s degree in Dance Education and adding a major of Special Education. At NKU, Heather has been the director’s assistant for Dance ’15, performed a tap piece in Dance ’16, and was even a rehearsal assistant for a guest artist from Los Angeles for Dance ’16 as well. She will also be on the NKU Dance Team this year.
Heather began demonstrating when she was 11 and discovered her passion for teaching. She is hoping to expand her horizons from not only teaching able-bodied children to dance, but children with disabilities as well. All that Heather wishes of her students is that they have fun and enjoy dancing. Heather wants to be able to spread her passion and knowledge to other dancers, so that they may discover what dance can do for them.
